This class provides you with the concepts and skills necessary to use AdobeFrameMaker 9 effectively and create templates. You get hands-on practice working with advanced techniques in FrameMaker in order to get the most out of your experience. You will learn the skills that will allow you to take advantage of long-document support that includes book management features, sophisticated tables, and rich formatting options offered by FrameMaker 9.

FrameMaker XML
Adobe FrameMaker’s Structured Document capabilities allow you to create complex, highly structured documents in Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). This class teaches you all the basics, as well as many advanced techniques necessary to use Structured FrameMaker as a complete publishing system. Within this authoring environment, you can automate formatting, create, edit, and publish

FrameMaker 9.0 - Building EDDs
You will learn how to plan and design a structured template, or Element Definition Document (EDD). You will also learn about document analysis and its critical role in the EDD creation process, and then you will create an EDD and add new elements to it. You will also define container elements, and add elements for document components such as footnotes, cross references, and graphics. Implementing general rules, setting up inclusions/exclustions and automatic insertion of children, formatting the EDD will also be discussed and implemented.

SGML/XML Importing and Exporting
The course will give you the skills necessary to prepare a FrameMaker 7 application capable of importing and exporting SGML and XML. You will learn through examples about default import and export behavior and then learn how to develop read/write rules to refine import and export behavior including graphics and tables. The courses covers the details of importing and exporting of elements, attributes and attribute values. You will learn how to handle entities of all types and how to prepare the FrameMaker 7 application you need.

FrameMaker Template Design
This class provides you with the concepts and skills necessary to build a FrameMaker template by adding master pages, paragraph and character tags, table tags, and other formats to a default FrameMaker document. You will boost your productivity of those using your newly acquired skills.

XML & Structured Authoring
Adobe FrameMaker’s Structured Document capabilities allow you to create complex, highly structured documents in Extensible Markup Language (XML). This class teaches you all the basics, as well as many advanced techniques, that you need in order to know how to use Structured FrameMaker as a complete publishing system.

Authoring FrameMaker Structured Documents
Enjoy WYSIWYG authoring in either a familiar word processing, style-tagging mode or a fully structured environment optimized for the editing and production of valid XML. Long-document support includes book management features, sophisticated templates, and rich formatting options. Experience built-in support for high-quality printing, the latest Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) standards, and integration of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG).

Structured Application Development
This class provides you with the concepts and skills to build structured applications, which control the import and export of XML/SGML in FrameMaker. Topics will include but are not limited to setting up EDDs and DTDs, creating read/write rules, and controlling table conversions.

Publishing with FrameMaker 9

This class provides you with the concepts and skills to master the many powerful features of FrameMaker 9 when publishing. This comprehensive guide explains the basics, such as creating a new document, and advanced topics, such as converting to XML.

Web Techniques with FrameMaker
This class provides you with the concepts and skills to control output and the way in which you view projects generated by FrameMaker. You will learn about the various templates available such as HTML, Dynamic HTML, XML+ CSS, XML + XSL. Mapping FrameMaker styles to RoboHelp will be explored.
